The brand DEUTSCHER MÜNZEXPRESS® (DME) has existed since 1993 and today belongs to the Uwe Bergmaier GmbH. Previously a part of the company Hercher Coins International (Hercher Münzen GmbH), the company was taken over by Uwe Bergmaier in 2008, at that time employed as an authorised signatory by Hercher Coins.

Uwe Bergmaier has worked in the direct marketing and coin business since 1986. During this time he acquired extensive expertise and an enormous amount of experience in the areas of direct marketing and coins.

He attained and applied his knowledge and experience while working in leading positions in direct mail companies and in leading coin trading houses dealing wholesale and retail.
It is very common that collector and investment coins are distributed globally using direct marketing techniques. This results in the combination of direct marketing and numismatics as areas of specialisation.

In 2008 Uwe Bergmaier set up his new business and became self-employed with the Uwe Bergmaier GmbH and its diverse business divisions focussing on direct marketing and numismatics. DME.BUSINESS arose from Uwe Bergmaier GmbH, serving leading coin trading houses as a contractor and in wholesale (b2b), as well as running a retail mail order business for collectors items (DEUTSCHER MÜNZEXPRESS®) in accordance to market demand.

Furthermore the group develops their own licensed and exclusive products in the area of collecting and merchandising. The Uwe Bergmaier Consulting (ubc.) advises and supports a range of different companies, not only in the coin branch, as a direct marketing agency including full service in the print and online sectors, using cross medial methods with a practical orientation.
